Rhodes

Rhodes was our favorite city to visit. It began as a Greek trading port. It was then overtaken by the Romans, then the Byzantines who later lost it to the Ottomans who lost it temporarily to the Crusaders who lost it two hundred years later to the Ottomans who surrended it after World War I to Greece.
